OH NO HE DIDN'T, DIDDY TALKS ABOUT HIS VISIT TO NIGERIA ON 106 AND PARK

Who is he to talk about poverty in Nigeria? Does he realize how much the tickets cost? hello, it was not cheap and "what did he mean by it is going down?"

He also talks about HIS EX GIRLFRIEND KIM. Is she truly his best friend? Diddy, why did you not marry her?

Here is an open question to you, Diddy, how much did you get paid for the concert?

We want to know and how much are you going to give back to help save poverty in Africa?

MOST.. (keyword is MOST)people living in Nigeria are POOR. The poor people who could not afford to pay for the tickets to see P Diddy perform, the poor people that eat eba for breakfast, drink garri for lunch and eat beans for dinner. I'm not exaggerating, WE do have a poverty problem in Nigeria. Just because you and I are OK does not mean EVERYONE is ok... It sickens me when fellow Nigerians don't even accept that we have a problem, we should be worried about how to SOLVE the problem and not deny it.

@ Anonymous 2, Nigeria's per capita income is $1188. Low in relative terms (due to our high population).

First and foremost Nigeria is a Developing country and majority of our problems started with the military rulers. He doesn't know shit men f diddy and anyone of these akata musicians that are always thinking africa is a poverty and messed up place. Nigeria is gradually changing at least they are still allowing foreigners to come when the military people were in power p.diddy couldn't smell naija. But I agree that we do have a problem and we are hoping that the little change that has occurred over the last 8yrs improves. We all should all know change doesn't occur overnight, so help instead of talkin rubbish are there no poor people in America, and What happened to all the money he took for his stupid show. I know they were charging like 100 thousand naira or more to see the guy. See his mouth like poverty. SouthAfrica never had a military ruler dumb ass, He needs a bloody history lesson on Nigeria bcos he thinks democracy works in Africa. Omo na prayer and the grace of God dey help that country.

of all things to say, its only poverty he saw to talk about.He's not serious.Why didn't he donate or perform for charity like Jay-Z.Even Jay-Z that gave to charity didn't say Nigeria was poor.He is just talking,let us see action

You know what:-)) that was the 1st thing that came to mind when i was watching and heard him say "poverty" was so big in naija. I wanted to jump into that TV and slap is mama out of his head!!! Yes I know poverty still exist in nigeria... but for the love of God; diddy did not do the concert for free. If anything, he made more than he would have made if the concert were to be in the America. They charged an arm and leg whereas if it was here the concert would have been affordable to everyone (even students) but noooooooo the rich folks were the ones that could attend in naija. Come on; it wasn't chicken change so he needs to go get a brain in that stupid black head of his. Or better yet don't perform in Naija again. I'm too mad-- can't control my thoughts!!!!

forget P'Diddy. He has said nothing wrong. Has he said anything we haven't heard before? has he said anything we ourselves haven't said before?

@anonymous
Why do you degrade eba, gaari and beans? is there any other food in the world that compares to such. The 3-foods you mentioned are the majors in the ajepaki department, and these are what make nigerians strong, whole and hearty. Between spaghetti and eba, I'll go for Eba. Between baked beans and gaari+Ewa riro, ill shoot for Ewa riro. Between meatpie and pounded yam, meatpie looses out realtime.

Nigeria is Poor? is that P'Diddy's problem? No. If he said Nigeria is rich, ull be the first to say that he's deceiving us.

He doesnt need to give a dime to save Africa. Cant Africa save itself. Our major problem is that our wealth is in the hands of the few. Fine, we have a problem, but who is P'Diddy to help us. Have we tried helping ourselves in the first place? If we tried and failed, then we can ask for help, but if we are still sitting pretty, then maybe when we are tired of povery, we'll know the next way forward.

Hurricane Katrina showed the world that there is large scale poverty even in the world's only remaining superpower. So poverty exists world wide. Why Diddy seemed to insinuate that the concert sought to deal with the issues of poverty is beyond me...

I am not saying we do not have poverty. I know we do but why did he not offer to have a charity concert? He was paid $$$$$. Basically what is he doing to help solve the problem?
@anon 7.48 yes I agree poverty exists but we need to stop talking about it and do something about it
@anon 8.44 exactly!
@chxta thanks for the clarification

If Nigeria is nothing but a dump then what are akatas doing there? If Nigeria is a dump then so are many of the akata neighborhods I see here in America or don't you know there is a reason why white Americans don't want to share a neighborhood with akatas? They don't want akatas to mess up their tidy neighborhoods. Trust me, go to places like the deep south and you will be amazed. Have you not heared of inner city ghettos? who lives there? Akatas not so? Please let me hear word.

so if I'm understanding you correctly: Nigerians can talk about Nigeria but not non-Nigerians?

Well if there is poverty in Nigeria we certainly know how to do poverty well. Poverty in Nigeria does not sitdown and wait for welfare, it walks on its feet and hustles hard for the next meal.
hmm see me see p diddy or whatever he calls himslef now, shebi he made poor money in the real Africa, where its going down? abeg gi make we hear word!

Nigeira is poor; there shouldnt be a debate about that.. we are rich in comparison to many african countries, and we are one of the strongest nations in Africa... but we are still poor non the less. However , one most wonder wheather diddy lacks manners. We invite him to our country, and the bagger couldnt find one good thing to say about Nigeria. Wouldnt common sense tell the bagger that some nigerians might just be watching? what is wrong with these people. Anyways, check out www.myspace.com/bijouxs

Guys,you all need to wake up!!!! there's is major poverty in Nigeria. Diddy didnt say nothing wrong....no he did not. ...folks, pls, pls, believe it...we have major poverty back home and it kills me.

P.DIDDY IS VERY STUPID TO HAVE SAID THAT NIGERIANS ARE POOR.THE TRUTH IS THAT AMERICANS ARE POORER THAT NIGERIANS BELIEVE ME. THE BIG DIFFERENCE IS THAT THEIR GOVERNMENT PROVIDES VERYTHING FOR THEM.GOVT GIVES THEM MONTHLY WELFAIR, LOANS ETC INFACT MOST AMERICANS LEAVE ON CREDIT. AND WHEN THE RICH ONES GO BROKE, THEY FILE FOR BANKRUPCY TO AVERT TAXES AND STUFFS LIKE THAT.IF DIDDY WAS A NIGERIAN PROBABLY HE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN NIGER DELTA CARRYING GUNS AND KIDNAPPING WHITE PEOPLE. HE SHOULD BETTER COUNT HIS BLESSINGS AND NAME THEM ONE BY ONE AND THANK GOD THAT HIS GRAND PARENTS WERE TAKEN AS SLAVES TO THE UNITED STATES OTHERWISE HE WOULD HAVE BEEN IN ALABA MARKET OR AUTO PARTS HUSTLING. I NO BLAME AM...ADAMU.

I agree with diddy, thats why we left that country.

My people do not be angry with Diddy's comments. He is just reflecting on his observations. The truth is that Nigeria has alot of millionaire and billionaires. Perhaps 1 of the largest numbers on earth. However, the reality is that the ratio of poor people to rich is a broad gap. An Indian man once told me that the richest nation in Africa is Nigeria but unfortunately we have bad management and refuse to accept our short comings. Don't hate on the brother. Remember he said that we are his people people. Do you know the gravity of that statement?!

i dont think diddy said anything new. he went to nigeria and poverty stared him in the face first hand.why didnt he say the same about south africa. imagine you were born in the states and then go visit nigeria.im sure you will say the same. come on!!! theres poverty in our land.
