Wow exciting News, Nigeria will be hosting the first MTV AFRICA awards show on November 28 2008. Be sure to keep reading Naijagal for more details on the event.

"In 2008 MTV will begin the annual MTV Africa Music Awards, to be called MAMA. It will be the channel's first awards dedicated wholly to the African continent."

The cool MTV Africa Music Awards will certainly be taking place at the Velodrome, Abuja, Nigeria on Saturday November 22; It will be a two-hour TV show with live performances from African and international stars, awards presentations and the host of this spectacular event is described as an “international superstar”.

The show will celebrate contemporary African music talent; It will focus on contemporary African genres, as well as those popular in sub-Saharan Africa, including hip-hop, R&B, rock, Afro Pop, Afro Beat, kwaito, bongo flava, dancehall, soul, rock and funk.

In the words of MTV Networks Africa senior vice president and managing director Alex Okosi and I quote

“The MTV Africa Music Awards with [telco company] Zain will create an unprecedented global platform for African musicians to shine and to spread the word about Africa’s extraordinary music talent. We are very excited to partner with Zain to realise our vision of creating an MTV awards ceremony for the artists and music fans of the African continent.’

This amazing event will be featured around the world on MTV TV, online, mobile and radio platforms, including pan-African TV channel MTV base, MTV2 (USA) and African terrestrial TV channels STV and AIT (Nigeria), TBC (Tanzania) and TV3 (Ghana), as well as selected partner radio stations across the continent.

I previously blogged about him here and here now If you notice frm some of his pictures he is wearing a ring. Well so it is ladies, he is married to a lovely lady called Adjoa. They have two wonderful lovely daughters, J-dyl, three and J-ian, one.
