SAD DAY TODAY AS FABRICE MUAMBA SUFFERS A HEART ATTACK AT THE FA CUP QUARTERFINAL IN TOTTENHAM!
Really sad day earlier today Bolton midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed mid field apparently he suffered a major heart attack after collapsing during an FA Cup quarterfinal at Tottenham.. He is currently critically ill in a hospital's heart attack unit.
Muamba fell facedown on the field near the midfield line without any players near him.
Medics rushed onto the field with a defibrillator and treated the 23-year-old, pumping his chest for around six minutes before he was rushed to hospital.
A heart attack at 23 is certainly devasting especially when you understand what this young man has been through.
Born in Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo) on April 6, 1988, the first 11 years of Muamba’s life were as far away from your average Premier League star as you could imagine.
By the age of six his father had fled to England to get away from civil war in his country, and it was only in 1999 that Muamba and his family were reunited with him when they too arrived in the United Kingdom.
Once settled in his adopted country, it didn’t take long for the youngster to shine – and not just with a football.
Watching this match live, I wondered why the game was stopped all of a sudden. We pray he gets back to great health soon, he has a lot to offer. In case you missed it here is the video from the match earlier today!
