🌍 Historic First: Meet Pope Leo XIV — The First American-Born Pontiff 🇺🇸🕊️

 In a momentous event for the Catholic Church, Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of Chicago has been elected as the 267th pope, taking the name Pope Leo XIV. This marks the first time in the Church's 2,000-year history that an American-born cardinal has ascended to the papacy. 



Known for his moderate stance on key Church issues, Pope Leo XIV is expected to serve as a unifying figure amid ideological divides within the Church. His extensive experience includes missionary work in Peru and leadership roles within the Vatican, notably as the prefect of the Dicastery for Bishops. 

Pope Leo XIV's election follows the death of Pope Francis on April 21, 2025. The conclave, comprising 133 voting cardinals, reached a consensus relatively quickly, reflecting a desire for continuity and global outreach within the Church. 

The global Catholic community welcomes Pope Leo XIV with prayers and hope for a future filled with faith, unity, and compassion.

I previously blogged about him here and here now If you notice frm some of his pictures he is wearing a ring. Well so it is ladies, he is married to a lovely lady called Adjoa. They have two wonderful lovely daughters, J-dyl, three and J-ian, one.
