This is so sad for everyone involved, apparently the lagos state court of appeals has denied Ibinabo Fibebresima's bail request yesterday on the premise that her application was deemed incompetent OUCH! According to saharareporters The three-man panel of judges, headed by Justice U.I. Ndukwe-Anyanwu, ruled that the application was incomplete, as the appellant failed to attach to her application copies of the judgment affirming the five-year jail sentence imposed on her by a Lagos High Court. Presiding Justice Ndukwe-Anyanwu said the only option left was to strike out the application or adjourn it to a further date for a hearing.

Hot off the press, according to vanguard The economy was plunged deeper into crisis last week due to a strike action embarked upon by workers of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, over the planned restructuring of the NNPC. The cause of the crisis: The Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Ibe Kachikwu unilaterally announced a restructuring of the NNPC without consultations with the workers and the National Assembly.  The announcement was met with stiff opposition from the two labour groups in the NNPC — Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN-and the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers, NUPENG- while the National Assembly also kicked against it. After series of dialogue and engagements, the workers suspended their strike action, while the Senate and House of Representatives backpedalled and expressed their support for the initiative. Sounds to me like someone just realized the gravy train is kaput!!!...
